I am honoured to have been elected as Chair of the Friends of the Conquest Hospital by my fellow Trustees.
First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude to my predecessor, Sarah Kowitz, for her dedication and leadership in helping modernise the charity. I am delighted that Sarah will continue to support the Friends as a Trustee and lead a new committee focused on driving our fundraising efforts forward.
We are entering an exciting new chapter for the Friends, with several new trustees bringing fresh perspectives and a wealth of expertise to our board. These new skillsets, combined with our ongoing initiatives to modernise the charity, position us to make an even greater impact on the hospital and the community it serves. We have been reflecting on how we can be most effective in our support, ensuring that every action we take contributes to the best possible care for patients, the best resources for staff, and a stronger future for healthcare in our region.
At the heart of our mission is a simple but powerful belief: Conquest Hospital is a fundamental building block for nurturing a healthy, economically progressive, and proud Hastings and surrounding community. As someone who has personally experienced the exceptional care provided by the Conquest, I know how important it is to have a well-equipped, thriving hospital at the centre of our town.
The demand for additional equipment and services continues to grow, and with your support, we can help meet these needs. We are preparing to launch a new series of fundraising initiatives and would love for you to be involved—whether by organising a community event, taking on a personal challenge, or simply making a contribution. Every effort, big or small, helps strengthen our hospital and, in turn, our community.
Together, we can ensure that the Conquest not only maintains its outstanding level of care but continues to grow and evolve to meet the needs of future generations.
