The Friends of Conquest Hospital is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the UK Charity Commission, number 1183652.

Whilst becoming a CIO in 2019 the Friends of Conquest Charity was formed when Conquest Hospital opened its doors in 1993.

Our aim is to support Conquest Hospital through the purchase of goods and services that directly affect the comfort and wellbeing of patients, their families and the staff who work at the hospital. We buy goods and services that compliment and enhance the good work of the NHS.

Conquest Hospital is a modern district general hospital, located in St. Leonards-on-Sea, on the outskirts of Hastings. All of its services are on four levels with the main wards located to the rear of the hospital overlooking a lagoon with views over the historic town of Hastings and of the English Channel.

It has surgical and medical wards and specialist units, a 24 hour Emergency Department and a full range of diagnostic services including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computer Tomography (CT) and Interventional Radiotherapy.

Emergency and high risk general surgery takes place at Conquest Hospital. Planned (elective) operations are carried out at both Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne DGH but a small number of these planned operations, which include the more complex procedures, are undertaken at Conquest Hospital.

Conquest Hospital also has a Consultant-led Maternity Unit with a 10 room delivery suite and antenatal and postnatal wards.

Conquest hospital has a Care Quality Commission (CQC) overall rating of ‘Outstanding’.
