Each year 1 in 7 babies are born prematurely or sick or with complex health issues and need extra special care.
When a baby arrives a little earlier than planned or needs extra medical attention, they spend their first days or weeks in our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).
As part of our £101,000 equipment appeal, the Friends of Conquest are fundraising to purchase 12 brand-new, specialist cots for these vulnerable newborns.
Why do these cots matter?
Standard cots just won’t do here. These specialised cots are meticulously designed to provide optimal warmth, easy access for doctors and nurses performing delicate procedures, and crucially maximum comfort for a healing baby. They also allow parents to get as close as possible during those vital early bonding moments.
By funding these 12 cots, we can ensure that local families facing a stressful time have the very best, most comforting environment right here at Conquest Hospital.
Let’s make sure our littlest neighbours are looked after. Can you help us hit our target?
