The Friends are proud to announce that our General Manager, Jo Clark, has been selected to join the Social Leaders Hastings programme, a flagship initiative by Clore Social Leadership in association with Hastings Voluntary Action.
Jo is one of only 25 leaders chosen from across the area to participate in the 2026 cohort. The programme is specifically designed to strengthen the local social sector by equipping local leaders with the tools, networks, and resilience needed to drive significant community impact.
As the General Manager of the Friends, Jo oversees the vital volunteer-led services, events, programmes and corporate partnerships that raise essential funds for medical equipment and patient comforts at the Conquest Hospital.
“The Conquest Hospital is a cornerstone of our community,” said Jo. “I am thrilled to join this programme and collaborate with other local changemakers. My goal is to bring back fresh perspectives and stronger partnerships that will ultimately benefit our NHS staff, our patients, and our incredible team of volunteers.”
The Social Leaders Hastings programme will see Jo engage in intensive strategic development, focusing on how local organisations can work more cohesively to tackle the unique challenges facing Hastings and the surrounding area.
Thomas Gardiner, Chair of Conquest Friends, added:
“We are delighted that Jo’s dedication to our hospital and our community has been recognised. Investing in leadership is vital for the long-term sustainability of local charities, and we are excited to see the positive impact this will have on our work at the Conquest Hospital”
